Inflation in Kuwait rose by 1.15%


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, Aug 20, (KUNA): Inflation rates on annual basis in Kuwait rose by 1.15 percent in July, compared to the same month in 2018, according to the Central Statistical Office (CSO).

Inflation rate on a monthly basis rose 0.26 percent in June compared to June in 2018, CSO said in a report released on Tuesday. Food prices increased 1.01 percent in July, while tobacco and cigarrettes climbed one percent.
Moreover, clothing went up 1.71 percent and domestic services dropped 0.78 percent. Meanwhile, home furniture and maintenance rose 1.88 percent, health group went up 2.16 percent and transportation moved up 4.68 percent.
CSO also noted that telecommunication rose 4.79 percent, culture and entertainment went up 3.89 percent and education grew 2.43 percent. Restaurants and hotels group saw a rise of 1.32 percent, while other commodities and services also went up by 0.56 percent.
