Afghan authorities said that the police have arrested 29 people suspected of drug related crimes in 1 week, according to Xinhua.
Counter-Narcotics Criminal Justice Task Force of Afghanistan (CJTF) is quoted saying in a statement that "Counter-Narcotics Police of Afghanistan (CNPA) together with Afghan security forces busted 22 drug cases and captured 29 people across Afghanistan within the past week".
The arrested, including a woman, were suspected of smuggling 18 kg opium, more than 26 kg of morphine, 60 kg of hashish, 1,590 kg of heroin, and 16 kg of other chemical substances.
After primarily investigation, the cases were handled to the Central Narcotics Tribunal.
