(MENAFN) French President Emmanuel Macron highlighted the significance for a de-escalation deal on the Syrian crisis to take effect.
President Macron emphasized "today we are very concerned about what is happening in Idlib. Today the population of Idlib lives under constant bombardment, civilians, children die."
Macron added that "and I think that the situation is rather urgent and it is necessary to implement the memorandum on the cease-fire, signed in Sochi, till the end."
This comes before the commencement of a meeting between Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Bregancon.
Back in September 2018, Russia and Turkey reached an agreement on the establishment of a de-escalation zone in Syria's Idlib.
