17.5 percent drop in Turkish house sales


(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Turkish statistical office TurkStat revealed a 17.5 percent decline in July 2019 in the country's housing sales compared to a year ago.

In July, the statistical office unveiled, Turkey sold 102,236 houses and around 39,000 newly-constructed houses.

Istanbul alone accounted for 16.9 percent of the sales to stand at 17,276 sales, TurkStat showed in a statement.

Ankara also sold 7,914 houses while the Aegean province of Izmir sold 4,778 houses during the month, TurkStat added.
