Zelensky, Netanyahu agree to settle problem of Israel's entry denials to Ukrainians


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has agreed with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to finally settle the issue of Israel's entry denials to Ukrainian citizens.

'Recently, our countries have been actively cooperating in the field of migration. I am speaking of numerous Israel's entry denials to Ukrainian citizens. We have agreed to finally resolve this issue, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said at a joint briefing with Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He added that citizens of the two countries should fully use the benefits of the visa-free regime and thousands of Ukrainian citizens should not be stuck on the Israeli border.

According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, 4,500 Ukrainians were denied entry to Israel in 2017, 3,500 in 2018. Since the beginning of this year, 2,600 Ukrainian citizens have been denied entry to Israel.

At the same time, about 200 citizens of Israel were denied to Ukraine last year, 700 people since the beginning of this year.

A visa-free regime operates between Ukraine and Israel.
