Sri Lanka- SLPP says will sue UNP after Presidential election


(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) says it will take legal action against members of the current UNP-led Government after the Presidential elections.

SLPP Chairman, Professor G.L Peiris said that an SLPP Government will seek compensation from the current Government over false charges filed against them.

He said that after the 2015 Presidential election the new Government made false allegations against members of the former Government.

Professor G.L Peiris said that normal laws will be used to take action against the UNP-led Government.

He said that the current Government was unable to prove any of the allegations made against members of the former Government led by then President Mahinda Rajapaksa. (Colombo Gazette)
