Chinese stocks edged up on Monday with the Shenzhen-based stocks having gained the most.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index increased 2.10 percent to set at 2,883.10 points, while the Shenzhen Component Index added 2.96 percent higher to reside at 9,328.96 points.
The joint income of shares on the two exchanges reached USD82.7 billion increasing from USD61.4 billion the last trading day.
Most stocks increased, with gainers outnumbering losers by 1,411 to 57 on the Shanghai bourse and 2,079 to 59 in Shenzhen.
