Solid waste imports of China fall

China has had a decrease in the imports of solid waste in the first half of the current year along the implementation of the ban on foreign garbage, according to Xinhua.

Li Ganjie, head of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, said that solid waste import of the country was 7.286 million tons in the first 6 months of the current year, falling 28.1 percent year on year.

China has devised a plan 2 years ago in 2017 to reduce solid waste import capable of being replaced by domestic resources by the end of 2019.
