(MENAFN- NewsBytes) Royal Enfield is set to increase the prices of its popularInterceptor 650andContinental GT 650motorcycles in India.
With the price revision, which will come into effect from September 1, the 650 twins will become costlier by around Rs. 6,000.
Despite the price hike, both of them still continue to be the most affordable twin-cylinder motorcycles in the country.

First, a look at the new prices
With the price hike, the Interceptor 650 will cost Rs. 2.55 lakh (previous price: Rs. 2.50 lakh) for the standard variant and Rs. 2.76 lakh (previous price: Rs. 2.70 lakh) for the top-end model.
Likewise, the Continental GT's standard model will cost Rs. 2.70 lakh (previous price: Rs. 2.65 lakh) and its top-end variant will cost Rs. 2.91 lakh (previous price: Rs. 2.85 lakh).
Design
Meanwhile, here's recalling Royal Enfield 650 Twins
Both Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 feature a naked street look with a bulbous headlamp, dual exhausts, and sit on same steel tubular, double-cradle chassis.
The twin motorcycles get a retro appeal, thanks to the rounded mirrors, spoked wheels, and a lot of chrome work.
The Interceptor has a 13.7-liter fuel tank, while the Continental GT has a 12.5-liter fuel tank capacity.

Power and performance
Both the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 draw power from a 648cc parallel-twin SOHC engine which is capable of producing 47bhp of power at 7,250rpm and 52Nm of peak torque at 5,250rpm.
For transmission duties, both motorcycles get a six-speed manual gearbox and a slipper clutch.
Moreover, they promise a city mileage of 26kmpl and can do 0-100kmph in 6.54 seconds.

Both the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 come equipped with 320mm disc brakes on the front, 240mm disc brakes on the rear, and dual-channel ABS for improved road handling.
To handle suspension duties, both the motorcycles house 41mm telescopic forks on the front and a dual-shock suspension on the rear.
