(MENAFN - The Holmes Report) SINGAPORE —  Singapore Airlines (SIA) has appointed Siva Govindasamy as vice president public affairs. Govindasamy will take over SIA's corporate communications portfolio from Nicholas Ionides, who has been with the Airline for more than 10 years. Ionides is leaving SIA late in October to take on a senior role with Marina Bay Sands.
Govindasamy will be joining SIA from Airbus, where he has been senior communications manager Asia-Pacific since October 2016. Prior to that he was a journalist for more than 16 years.
KUALA LUMPUR — Publicis Groupe has appointed Umesh Nair as managing partner of MSL Malaysia. Reporting to CEO Tan Kien Eng, Nair will lead the operations for MSL, the Global Public Relations and Integrated Communications agency of Publicis Groupe, and will be responsible for the overall growth of the firm and its integration into the Groupe. Nair joins MSL from Edelman Malaysia, where he led the organization's Reputation Practice. Prior to that, he was with FleishmanHillard in Malaysia and India.
DELHI — Jabra, the leading global brand in best-in-class sound solutions, has appointed Archetype as its PR partner for the India region, following a competitive pitch. Archetype will provide strategic counsel and reinforce Jabra's reputation in the Indian market, both for corporate and brand communications.
MUMBAI — Adfactors PR has signed an MoU with leading education company upGrad to train 300 of its client-servicing employees, from Account Executives to Vice-Presidents, in a post-graduate certification program on digital marketing and communications, designed by experts from MICA, India's premier marketing focused B-School, with additional modules co-created with Adfactors PR. The first batch of over 100 employees, drawn from the Delhi and Bengaluru offices of Adfactors PR, have already started their training Two other batches of 100 each will start on 16th August and 1st October, respectively. The entire program is funded by Adfactors PR for its employees.
DELHI — Media Mantra has won the nationwide public relations mandate of RRB Energy, a well established wind and electric power generation organsation in India. Media Mantra will be managing the brand image, media duties, strategic PR and reputation management for the brand.
