Heavy thunderstorms struck Chicago city in the state of Illinois in the U.S. disturbing hundreds of flights, according to Xinhua.
Over 300 flights were cancelled in the city's main international airport O'hare as strong rains swept through the city.
Flightradar 24 air traffic website said that the O'hare international airport average arrival delay reached 58 minutes and departures were delayed 118 minutes.
The national weather service said that thunderstorms of strong to severe level accompanied with winds, large hails and strong rain are predicted to be affected the central plains of the U.S.
