(Pajhwok): The Afghan Foreign Ministry has dismissedPakistan 's ambassador to the United States remarks about the impact of Kashmir tensions on the Afghan peace process as irresponsible.
In a press release, the ministry said it considered Asad Majeed Khan, the Pakistani ambassador to the United States, comments as irresponsible.
The ministry said linking tensions in Kashmir to the Afghan peace process indicated misgivings about peace inAfghanistan .
Afghanistan, insisting on good neighborliness and resolving regional challenges through dialogue, called for Pakistan's sincerity in fulfilling its commitments to assist the peace process in Afghanistan, the statement said.
Reiterating Pakistan`s support for Afghan peace process, Asad Majeed Khan recently told the New York Times during an interview that Kashmir and Afghanistan issues were separate but the ongoing Kashmir crisis could affect Afghan peace talks as Pakistan might redeploy troops from the Afghan border to the Kashmir frontier which could complicate the peace talks.
