1.1 percent Tunisian GDP growth in H1


(MENAFN) Tunisia was revealed to have registered a 1.1 percent economic growth from January to June 2019, less than forecasts the government made of a 3 percent boost.

Data the National Institute of Statistics (INS) issued unveiled a 0.8 percent drop in the value added of manufacturing industries during the second quarter on annual basis.

Meanwhile, the value added of manufacturing industries declined by 0.2 percent on quarterly basis as the INS revealed.

Such a plunge is attributed to an 8.2 percent decrease in chemical industries production, with a 1.6 percent fall in the textile-clothing and footwear sector.

The value added of non-manufacturing industries also witnessed a 2.6 percent fall on annual basis and a 0.8 percent decline on quarterly basis.
