Brazil in talks for USD500m sanitation projects funding

(MENAFN) Talks commenced by the Brazilian Environment Ministry for winning a loan worth USD500 million with a purpose to launch essential sanitation initiatives.

BRICS' New Development Bank is likely to grand the loan to the Brazilian ministry by 2020, and is expected to be used by local administrations for sanitation networks, waste management and renewable energy.

The government is planning to review ways for the projects to be executed, affirmed Environment Minister Ricardo Salles.

Salles added: "we must now study the best way for the immediate implementation of the resources, whether it will be made through transfers to consortia of municipalities and individual town governments or if the government will set up federal waste management infrastructure in partnership with the municipal governments."
