Salisbury: In the colours of Qatar Racing Ltd., Kick On (Charm Spirit) was back in the winners' circle on Thursday, following his first win at Group level in the Tattersalls Sovereign Stakes (Gr3) at Salisbury, UK.

Trained by John Gosden, the three-year-old bay colt won by a nose in front of the Accidental Agent in the mile race for 3-year-old and older colts and geldings.

Kick On broke smartly to sit up on the pace, making his move two furlongs from the line. He saw off a strong attempt from Flashcard, before battling through the final furlong with Accidental Agent to win in a photo finish under a strong ride from Oisin Murphy.

The R F Johnson Houghton-owned and Eve Johnson-trained Accidental Agent was the runner-up and was ridden by Charles Bishop. The Kennet Valley Thoroughbreds II-owned and Andrew Balding-trained Flashcard came third and was ridden by Rob Hornby.

Kick On was stepping back down in trip here following a disappointing run in the Prix du Jockey Club (Gr1) over a mile and a quarter.

Prior to this, he had won a listed race in Newmarket last April.

Kick On, a son of Qatar Racing stallion Charm Spirit, was bought as a yearling from Tattersalls Book 1.
