1998 -- Kuwaiti athlete Hussein Al-Enzi wins the gold medal in the shot put competition at the International Paralympics Committee's (IPC) Birmingham World Championship, recording 12.71 meters.
2011 -- Kuwaiti female engineer, Zamzam Al-Rakf, was elected board member in the International Desalination Association, thus becoming the IDA Representative in the Middle East. (end) hb
