(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) Kurunegala Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Kithsiri Jayalath has been transferred to Puttalam.
Meanwhile, SSP Buddhika Siriwardena was promoted as the DIG in charge of Kurunegala.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had launched an investigation on DIG Kithsiri Jayalath recently over matters related to the ongoing investigation against Dr. Mohamad Shafi who was arrested by the Kurunegala Police over allegations of acquiring assets in a suspicious manner.
