Qatar- Al Sadd, Al Duhail face off tomorrow for quarters spot

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Top Qatari teams Al Sadd and Al Duhail will face off in the AFC Champions League Round of 16 second leg tomorrow at the Al Sadd Stadium with a 7:15pm kick-off.
Al Duhail and Al Sadd were locked in a 1-1 draw in their first-leg match at the newly-opened Al Janoub Stadium on August 6.
Ace Qatari striker Akram Afif had given Al Sadd the lead, but that was cancelled out in the first half itself by Al Duhail's Tunisian attacking midfielder Yousef Msakni, who made a return to Al Duhail having played on loan at KAS Eupen in Belgium.
Both teams tried hard in the second half for the winning goal but it wasn't meant to be.
Spanish midfield great Xavi Hernandez, who replaced Portuguese Jesualdo Ferreira as Al Sadd coach ahead of this season, will be hoping to take the side to Round of 8 even as his Al Duhail counterpart Rui Faria, from Portugal, is sure to bring out all weapons in his arsenal so that The Red Knights turn the tables on The Wolves.
Al Duhail recently added Iraqi striker Mohanad Ali to their squad that also includes Bassam al-Rawi, Almoez Ali, Karim Boudiaf, Luis Martin, Ahmed Yasser, Ali Afif and Asim Madibo.
However, they will miss the services of Moroccan defender Mehdi Benatia, who walked off the pitch with an injury in the 18th minute of the first-leg game against Al Sadd.
Al Sadd have in their ranks South Korean playmaker Nam Tae-Hee, who had donned the Al Duhail colours for seven seasons, winning many titles, before making his debut for Xavi's team in the first-leg, Akram, Gabi Fernandez, Baghdad Bounedjah, Hassan al-Haydous, Abdelkarim Hassan, Hamed Ismail, Jung Woo-Young and Pedro, among others.
