Oman- Salalah Dermatology Forum to discuss ADR

The first Salalah Dermatology Forum will kick off on August 17 under the auspices of H E Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Obaid al Saeedi, Minister of Health, with the presence of H E Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar, at Millennium Resort Salalah

The forum, organised by the Oman Dermatology Society (ODS) in collaboration with Al Nahdha Hospital, will include a medical conference on adverse drug reaction as well as a workshop on cosmetic dermal injection. On the theme of the forum, Dr Aysha al Ali, president, ODS, points out that at present, the adverse drug reaction (ADR) is a vital subject open for debate and receives a broad attention worldwide.

It concerns most professions in the health sector including health workers at day clinics, health centres, specialised clinics and hospitals.

She emphasised that the theme is linked directly with the safety and health of patient in addition to the quality of services provided by the healthcare institutions.

The forum aims at strengthening knowledge of all medical care personnel, introducing most common clinical forms of ADR and latest updates. In addition, it allows for the exchange of experience in the targeted fields.

Consultants from dermatology, autoimmunity medicine, emergency medicine, and aesthetic medicine will present working papers at the conference, in addition to the participations of specialists in pharmacovigilance and quality assurance.
