(MENAFN) Cryptocurrency mining was announced to have been allowed to be conducted in Iran and act as an industrial activity.
The Iranian government granted its green-light for cryptocurrency mining, enabling needed licenses from the Industry, Mining and Trade Ministry for the activity.
However, the government rejected the acceptance of cryptocurrencies use within domestic exchanges.
Governor of Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Abdolnaser Hemmati stated earlier: "the government's economic committee has approved a mechanism for mining digital coins and it will later be put to discussion at a cabinet meeting."
