Earthquake shakes Mie Prefecture

The Japan Meteorological Agency said that an earthquake of 6.5 magnitude hit Mie Prefecture on Japan on Sunday, according to Xinhua.

The earthquake hit at 3:31 am local time, it had a 420 km depth and an epicenter of 137.4 degrees longitude to the east and 33.0 degrees latitude to the north.

The tremor scaled at 4 out of 7 on the Japanese seismic intensity scale.

No tsunami predicted.
