Oman- RO25mn Millennium Resort opens in Salalah

The RO25mn Millennium Resort, Salalah opened under the patronage of H E Sheikh Khalid bin Omar al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service, on Wednesday.

Operated by Al Madina Real Estate, the property has been established at Al Saada area in Salalah. The inaugural event was attended by a significant number of officials, investors and those interested in the real estate industry.

Developed on an area of around 24,456sq m, the resort comprises a four-star hotel with a capacity of 180 rooms, ten chalets, 19 luxurious villas and 116 furnished apartments.

H E Sheikh Marhoon at the opening ceremony said that the project is a valuable addition to the tourism sector in the Governorate of Dhofar especially during the ongoing khareef season. He added that Dhofar is in need of such resorts as the governorate receives tourists round the year via airlines and cruise vessels.

H E Sheikh Marhoon also thanked the officials of Al Madina Real Estate for its role in developing real estate projects that meet the aspirations and expectations of the sultanate in terms of establishing modern cities ensuring a better tomorrow besides their contribution in enhancing the basic structure for the tourism sector by means of establishing tourist resorts, hotels and commercial malls throughout Oman.

In his speech Khamis bin Mubarak al Kaiumi, chairman, Al Madina Real Estate, said, 'Our celebration today with the opening of this magnificent edifice demonstrates our determination and commitment to continue our work and our aspirations to create cities for a better tomorrow. It also strengthens our credibility towards our valued customers in terms of adhering to the principles of work from the part of Al Madina Real Estate Company.'

He added that the company is diversifying its investments, adopting the latest state-of-the-art planning methodologies and applying the principles of value engineering to maximise the added value of projects.

He also stated that the company offers services on the basis of scientific research involving preliminary studies to assess the feasibility of the projects and the milestones of implementation, ending with the handing over of finished units to the customers.

Eng Abdulrahman bin Awadh Burham Ba Omar, chairman of Al Basateen Development Company, said the resort will play an important role in enhancing the tourism activities.
