Spurs hires NBA star Duncan as assistant coach


(MENAFN) NBA icon Tim Duncan was announced to have made a return to the San Antonio Spurs after accepting an agreement to become their new assistant coach.

On its website, the San Antonio confirmed that the 43-year-old will be lending Head Coach Gregg Popovich a hand on the bench of the team.

Popovich commented: "it is only fitting that after I served loyally for 19 years as Tim Duncan"s assistant, that he returns the favor."

Duncan is a former center and power forward who played with the San Antonio Spurs until 2016 when it was time for his retirement.
