Kuwaiti female employee at passport office probed for theft of state funds


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, July 22: The Public Funds Prosecution has sent a letter to the director general of General Department for Residency Affairs, requesting for the original documents of 211 transactions conducted by a female Kuwaiti employee in the immigration department, reports Al- Anba daily quoting security sources.

According to the letter, the employee is believed to have received the value of the stamps placed on the transactions on her own account, which indicates a case of the theft of state funds.

The audit departments of the General Department of Residency Affairs noticed some transactions with KD 1 stamps instead of KD 10.

An investigation was conducted and it was eventually discovered that the employee was stamping the value of the dinar on the transaction and taking the 10 KD stamp for herself, after which she returned them to the representative of the companies and obtain the value of those stamps
