1 ton of marijuana confiscated in Turkey's Batman

(MENAFN) On Monday, at least one ton of marijuana was confiscated by Turkish security forces in the southeastern province of Batman.

Anti-narcotic police squads carried out a raid against the financial support of the terrorist PKK group, arresting one defendant, affirm the source in condition of secrecy.

According to police data, Turkish security forces seized at least 17.3 tons of heroin over the past year, arresting over 1,500 suspects.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK - considered as a terrorist group by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU - has been responsible for the murder of approximately 40,000 people.
