Sri Lanka- State of emergency extended by another month


(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) President Maithripala Sirisena has extended the state of emergency by another month with effect from today.

A gazette notice was issued today announcing the extension of the state of emergency.

The state of emergency was declared soon after the April 21st suicide attacks for a period of one month and has been extended since then.

Parliament will now need to meet to approve or reject the extension. (Colombo Gazette)
