(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, July 21 (KUNA) -- Egypt's Minister of Civil Aviation Younis Al-Masri on Sunday voiced his displeasure after British Airways "unilaterally" suspended its flights to Cairo for seven days, without coordination with relevent bodies in Egypt.
This came during a meeting between the minister and British Ambassador to Egypt Geoffrey Adams in the awake of the decision, the Civil Aviation Ministry said in a statement.
During the meeting, the Ambassador apologized for not informing Egyptian authorities about the move before it was taken, according to the statement.
He stressed that the decision is not related to Egypt's security measures at its airports.
The measures, which have been newly-updated, the ambassador said, are certified by both British and international air navigation committees.
The two sides said they would continue to work together to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
They also expressed the depth of relations and bonds between Egypt and Britain, stressing continued cooperation so as to preserve the safety and security of passengers, it said. (end)
