Qatar- Al Rayyan Municipality records eight food safety rule violations

Doha: Al Rayyan Municipality, represented by the Health Control Department, shut down a shop and recorded eight violations on food outlets during an inspection campaign launched in June.

The inspectors have made 1,192 inspections. Reconciliations were made in ten cases and three cases were referred to security agencies. A total of 40 samples of foods were sent to central laboratory for testing, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment said in a press release.

The food items which were found unfit for human consumption were destroyed. A total of 4,700 slaughtered animals were inspected by the veterinary doctors, 30 slaughtered animals were destroyed for being unfit for human consumption.   During the first half of this year, the Monitoring Section of Al Daayen Municipality launched many campaigns against abandoned vehicles. The owners of 360 abandoned cars were notified to remove their vehicles. The inspectors made 1,119 inspection visits during which 370 violations were recorded. The action were taken to enforce the Public Hygiene Law No. 18 of 2017 and Law No. 1 of 2012 for regulating and motioning advertisements.
