38.8 percent raise in Iranian refining capacity

(MENAFN) Iran was announced to have recorded a 38.8 percent boost in the capacity of its crude oil and gas condensate refining in two years.

Head of National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) Ali-Reza Sadeq-Abadi confirmed that 2.15 million barrels per day (mbpd) is the refining capacity Iran is now presenting.

This figure is an increase by 600,000 bpd compared to the 1.55 mbpd registered at the start of the Iranian calendar year March 21, 2017, the chief stated.

Sadeq-Abadi added: "daily processing capacity of the country's refineries is expected to increase by 250,000 barrels by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 19, 2020) to reach 2.4 million bpd."
