30 percent surge in S. Korea's green vehicle sales

(MENAFN) Official data revealed South Korea to have registered a 30 percent surge in the number of sold environment-friendly vehicles from January to June 2019.

South Korea achieved this boost as a result of solid and growing demand on electric vehicles (EVs).

Data the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association (KAMA) and foreign automakers unveiled showed that South Korea sold 70,142 eco-friendly cars during the six-month period to mark a 30.4 percent jump on annual basis.

However, statistics showed a 4.7 percent decline in total sales of passenger vehicles to stand at 735,646 units.
