President of Asian Tennis Federation and Vice-President of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Anil Kumar Khanna with the president and members of Kuwait Tennis Federation, during which he conducted an inspection tour of Sheikh Jaber Al-Abdullah International Tennis Complex.
KUWAIT CITY, July 20:
President of Asian Tennis Federation and Vice-President of the International
Tennis Federation (ITF) Anil Kumar Khanna paid a one-day visit to Kuwait,
during which he conducted an inspection tour of Sheikh Jaber Al-Abdullah
International Tennis Complex.
Accompanied to the complex by the
President and members of Kuwait Tennis Federation, Khanna assessed all the
facilities in the complex as well as the new Kuwait Tennis Federation
headquarters.
During the press conference held
after the inspection tour of the facilities, President of Kuwait and Arab
Tennis Federations Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Abdullah welcomed the guest to the
country and expressed appreciation for his visit.
He revealed that the complex will
be inaugurated in early 2020, affirming that work is progressing as per the
project schedule.
Sheikh Ahmad thanked all parties
that are contributing to the successful execution of the project, declaring
that the world tennis champion Rafael Nadal will attend the opening ceremony
and play a game.
In a speech, Khanna expressed
profound gratitude and appreciation to the Kuwaiti federation for the reception
he received and the hospitality he enjoyed during the short visit.
He commended the facilities he
saw at Sheikh Jaber Al-Abdullah International Tennis Complex, saying it is one
of the best tennis complexes in the world.
Khanna declared that the complex
will serve not only Kuwaiti tennis players but also their counterparts from the
Gulf, Arab and Asian countries, indicating that the new complex will increase
the rate of tournaments in the region.
