Oman- Mwasalat carries over 4.5mn people in six months

Mwasalat carried 80 per cent more passengers in the first half of 2019 compared to the same period of 2018.

It carried over 4.5mn passengers from January 1 to June 30 on all routes, including Muscat, Sohar, Salalah and other governorates of the sultanate.

In the first half of 2018, Mwasalat carried more than 2.5mn passengers. On an average, Mwasalat carried more than 25,000 passengers per day this year compared to approximately 14,000 per day in the same period last year.

The total number of passengers being carried on the intra-city routes in Muscat, Salalah and Sohar stood at 4,279,488.

It carried another 264,670 passengers on the inter-city routes in the sultanate. Mwasalat is planning to launch smart digital solutions and a new application to smoothen the process of booking tickets online.
