DOHA: The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal' announced yesterday a traffic diversion on part of Al Hanaa Street with Thani Bin Jasim Street (known as Al Ittihad Intersection) in Al Gharrafa, starting today for a period of 18 months.

This diversion, which is in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, will allow the completion of works on Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor in Al Gharrafa area.

During this time, traffic between east and west of Thani Bin Jassim Street will be closed. Those arriving from Thani Bin Jassem Street towards Madinat Khalifa will have to turn to Al Hanaa Street and take a U-turn to Al-Hana Street and then make a right turn to Thani Bin Jassim Street in the east.

Road users  heading west from Madinat Khalifa to Al Gharrafa via Thani Bin Jasim Street need to turn right through Al Hanaa Street, then use the new U-turn on Al Markhiya Street, near Landmark Mall, to return Thani Bin Jasim Street via Al Hanaa Street, as shown on the attached map.

Ashghal will install road signs advising all road users to abide by the temporary speed limits and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
