(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today told the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) that the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) has not been signed between Sri Lanka and the US.
The Prime Minister's Office said that a delegation of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka met Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe this evening.
BASL had sought clarification on the SOFA agreement as well as other agreements being negotiated with the US.
"The PM assured the delegation that Government has not signed a SOFA agreement," the Prime Minister's Office said.
Minister of Justice Thalatha Athukorala and Foreign Minister Tilak Marapana also attended the discussion.
