Qatar- MoI launches Bedar initiative to reach out to workers community

(MENAFN - Gulf Times) In order to reach out to workers community in Qatar, the Public Relations Department under the Ministry of Interior (MoI) on Thursday launched the Bedar Community Initiative at a function, held at Officers Club of the General Directorate of Civil Defence.
The initiative that is implemented in cooperation with the Ras Laffan Community Outreach Programme (RLIC-COP) is aimed at ensuring communication with workers in the northern region of Qatar.
The outreach programme will make them aware of their rights and duties and help them develop their skills.
It will also ensure workers' involvement in the development of society and the preservation of their property through a series of training programmes and awareness workshops.
These programmes will raise their awareness of safety, health, customs, traditions and community culture.

MoI officials, trainers and representatives of various companies attending the launching ceremony
Bedar's most important feature is that it establishes a link between MoI departments in terms of awareness and education.
And a large number of employees in companies functioning in Qatar are given training and awareness through a number of expertised trainers.
The trainers have been given training through the 'Training of Trainers' and they will become ambassadors of training and awareness in their companies and residential complexes.
Sheikha al-Anoud Al -Thani, head of Media Studies, Public Relations Department, said that Bedar is implemented in lines with MoI's strategic orientations.
'We are looking to sensitise all residents on security and safety under the supervision of the Community Reach out Office of the Public Relations Departme by making communication between the resident workers and the community effective, she said.
A range of awareness sessions will be organised in English and the most common Asian languages through the Communities Office at the Department of Public Relations.
Sheikha Dana al-Thani, senior officer at RLIC-COP, said that Bedar is launched in order to build a bridge of effective communication between the major industrial companies in the northern areas and all segments of the community.
'The objectives of ??launching this initiative are based on the official directions of government institutions that demand steps to take care of the workers of different communities, she added.
Ibraheem al- Sada, trainer of Train the Trainer Programme said that the sustainability of the impact of this initiative is a real added value.
'A group of trainers and lecturers from Asian communities are trained. And these trainers will work as awareness and development ambassadors al-Sada said.
