Kuwait calls for resolving Ukraine's crisis through dialogue


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) NEW YORK, July 17 (KUNA) -- Kuwait has called on all parties to Ukraine's crisis to demonstrate self-constraint and adopt dialogue to reach diplomatic resolutions to the crisis.
This came in a speech by Kuwait's Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Mansour Al-Otaibi during a UN Security Council session last night on Ukraine's crisis.
Al-Otaibi called for taking all necessary measures to ease the military escalation in the Sea of Azov and committing to the UN conventions on the Law of the Sea.
He urge these parties to show the necessary political will to re-commitment to the full implementation of the Minsk deals to end the conflict so as to preserve the region's security and stability.
He renewed call to all parties to engage in dialogue, saying it is the best peaceful method to resolve conflicts whatever they are, in line with the principles of the UN Charter.
Al-Otaibi expressed his concern over unstable situation in eastern Ukraine that entered its fifth year.
He appealed to all parties not to take any escalating steps so as to avoid fueling the ongoing conflict.
The ambassador renewed Kuwait's commitment to Ukraine's unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity. (end)
