(MENAFN - Bangladesh Monitor) DHAKA: Over 11.38 lakh people are directly or indirectly associated with the tourism sector in Bangladesh. The figure will rise to 12.57 lakh in the year 2026.
AKM Shahjahan Kamal, Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism, said this quoting WTTC figures while inaugurating the three-day fair organised by ATJFB at Rabindra Sarobar in the city on September 27 in celebration of World Tourism Day 2018.
According to WTTC, Bangladesh's ranking among 184 tourism-rich countries was 60 and within 10 years the country's position will improve to 18.
The inaugural session of the fair was rounded off with a cultural performance.
