Rajavi throws down the gauntlet at Mullahs

TAKING
Iran from the guardianship of the Islamic jurist is undoubtedly a difficult task
for the Iranian opposition, which has managed to make major strides without
causing the Iranians to pay the price for the conflict with the Mullahs.

However,
such achievements would not have been possible without the decisive
international position taken against the regime of terror – especially in
cutting off oxygen pipes by escalating the international boycott against it and
by supporting the opposition.

In
the recent conference at the Albanian capital city of Tirana, interim President
of the Republic of Iran Maryam Rajavi presented disturbing facts about the
practices of the regime in Tehran.

These
facts were presented to an audience of more than 3,000 – the representatives of
35 countries. The objective was to galvanize the global conscience through the
mirror of truth in order to end the game of deals and compromises, and then
strive towards rescuing a great nation which fell victim to a group of
murderers who survive on blood and terrorism.

The
things witnessed in that conference were considered the model of a civilized
nation of Iranians who rejected all forms of systematic oppression practiced by
the leadership against any voice opposing practices which filled the jails with
political prisoners and scenes of gallows on the streets.

Nonetheless,
the opposition spike continues to grow strong and persists in its resistance.
In fact, its strength keeps on increasing.

Therefore,
we have to look into the stances of some western countries, especially the
United States of America which has taken upon itself to confront the evil
regime; but it seems the electoral element has started taking effect in
Washington which is hesitant in taking a stand.

Washington
is also holding back in terms of responding to daily threats posed by the
leaders of the Revolutionary Guard and the Mullahs; while its military
mobilization remains as flexing of muscles, hoping that the regime in Tehran
agrees to a dialogue.

Instantly,
this hope appears as an indication of early defeat because the regime in Iran
is dillydallying with the hope of change in the US administration through the
presidential election. At the same time, it is blackmailing the European Union
by breaching the nuclear deal with calculated steps to avoid detection of the
actual problem – to end Iran's interference in the internal affairs of its
neighbors, and funding of terrorism in the region and the world.

The
Mullahs have realized that these two conditions are difficult to fulfill
because they entail the end of its influence in the Arab world, in addition to
losing its weight globally. Based on this, Maryam Rajavi was on point when she
said: 'The regime wants to create tension in order to force the international
community to hold back.'

If
this procrastination is not dealt with decisively, the disaster of the nuclear deal
between the six major countries and Iran will recur. This deal led to revival
of terrorism through the billions which Tehran received and ended up using to
fund its gangs in the region – in Lebanon, Iraq or Yemen.

When
Iran's President Hassan Rouhani set almost impractical conditions to return to
the negotiation table, he had no intention to redeem his people from his
punishment. Instead, he wanted to maintain the status quo – hoping for change
in international balances.

Frankly,
this will not happen as long as the opposition force is there. This force has
street presence with the magnitude of the National Council of Resistance of
Iran and the People's Mujahedin of Iran whose leader threw the gauntlet at the
Mullahs by saying, 'Give way to the protesters and see the millions of people
who will come out to reject your policies.'
