A delegation from the World Crafts Council (WCC) will be visiting the sultanate from July 21 to 22.
It will oversee a field evaluation for the nomination of the wilayat of Bahla as a World Crafts City.
The delegation will be led by Dr Ghada Hijjawi, president of the World Crafts Council-Asia Pacific Region (WCC-APR) along with international jury members and crafts experts.
The delegation will review several crafts activities and events and meet with officials concerning the crafts sector in Dakhliyah governorate.
The delegation members will also visit the crafts training centres in Bahla as well the site allocated for the establishment of Al Ajyal College for Sciences of Craft Industries, the Heritage Bahla Oasis and the Salut heritage site.
The sultanate, represented by the Public Authority for Craft Industries, seeks to cooperate with various organisations and bodies to protect and preserve the intangible cultural heritage.
