(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ANKARA, July 16 (KUNA) -- A Turkish soldier in northern Iraq was killed by a bomb planted by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), Turkey's Defense Ministry said Tuesday.
"A counter-terrorism operation is ongoing in the region", the ministry said in a statement.
Turkey has been carrying out counter-terrorism operations across the country and in northern Iraq. (end)
