Jordan- French Ambassador: We seek lasting peace between Israel and Palestinians

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, July 15 (Petra) - French Ambassador to Jordan, David Bertolotti, said that his country is working with Jordan to achieve a lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinians and is ready to support any serious effort, including economic efforts, to achieve peaceprovided that it is complementary rather than a substitute for a political process.
In remarks at a reception hosted by the French Embassy in Amman on Sunday to mark the National Day of France, the envoy outlined the Jordanian-French ties in various fields. He praised the Jordanian government's firm commitment to economic reforms in order to control and reduce public debt, stimulate growth and maintain the Kingdom's position as an attractive destination for foreign investments.
"France, which is the largest non-Arab investor in Jordan, stresses that the stability of the business environment in Jordan is essential for attracting investors, along with the ease of doing business and the openness of the government to investors' demands," he added.
He also noted that the two countries are close partners in the field of defense and security, pointing out that his country has provided a large package of military and security assistance to help the Jordanian armed forces and other security agencies to meet the challenges associated with instability near the Jordanian border.
The ambassador stressed that France will continue its diplomatic efforts tirelessly to find a political solution in Syria.
The ceremony was attended by a number of officials and diplomats.
