Iraq urges Lebanese investments in country


(MENAFN) On Wednesday, previous Iraqi Prime Minister Ayad Allawi called on Lebanese businessmen to start coming to Iraq and search for suitable fields and opportunities for investment, Lebanon's Presidency emphasized.

Allawi affirmed after his meeting with Aoun in Beirut, "We have discussed with Lebanese President Michel Aoun the possibility of creating partnership between Lebanese and Iraqi businessmen and we will be following up on our agreements to make sure they are put in action very soon".

He added that Iraq is seeking to get advantages from Lebanese expertise in the banking sector.

Aoun, for his part, emphasized Lebanon is also eager to boost ties with Iraq in several fields.
