Jordanian- Emirati relations are strong, Interior minister says


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, July 7 (Petra)--Minister of Interior, Salameh Hammad, on Sunday, said that Jordanian- UAErelations are strong thanks to the two countries' leaderships common interest to improve them and open wider fields of cooperation and coordination in various fields.
The minster made his remarks in a meeting with a UAEsecurity and military delegation headed by Major General Muslim Rashedi.
The meeting focused on the security cooperation between the two counties and coordination mechanism used by various Jordanian security bodies to face different security threats in addition to the latest programs, projects and methods implemented by the ministry and its security departments to combat crime.
Hammad pointed out the importance of the bilateral cooperation and the need to support them in a way that serves the interest of the two peoples, mainly in light of the rapid coordination in economic, political and service sectors.
The minister also stressed the need to simplify all the necessary procedures to facilitate the exchange of security and technical expertise between the two countries, especially on combating terrorism, extremism, drugs and arms trade.
During the meeting, Hammad highlighted the ministry's organizational structure, tasks, specialties and strategies, pointing to duties of the Public Security Directorate, Gendarmerie Department and Civil Defence Directorate.
Head of the delegation praised the ability of the Jordanian security bodies in achieving security and stability as well as combating crime of all kinds, expressing his country's willingness to boost cooperation between the two brotherly countries, especially in thesecurity field.
