Kuwait- Senegal, Benin advance to Africa Cup of nations quarter final


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, July 5 (KUNA) -- Senegal and Benin advanced to the quarter final of the Africa Cup of Nations after knocking out Morocco and Uganda respectively on Friday.
Sadio Mane scored Senegal's sole goal in the 15th minute of the clash after receiving an assist from M'Baye Niang.
The FC Liverpool forward could have doubled the scored from the penalty spot at the 61 minute but he missed it.
Benin had a thrilling clash with Morocco. The two teams ending the original and extra times 1-1 each, sending the match to penalty shoot-outs, and Benin had the final say to win 4-1.
Benin will play against Senegal in the quarter final on July 10.
Meanwhile, Nigeria is meeting Cameroon tomorrow and host Egypt plays against South Africa. (end)
