Kuwaiti earns silver medal in Arab junior athletics tourney in Tunisia


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TUNIS, July 5 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Hashem Adnan earned a silver medal on Friday in the high jump competition at the seventh edition of the Arab Youth Athletics Championships.
Adnan, in a statement to KUNA, dedicated the silver medal to Kuwait Athletics Association (KAA), appreciating its "great" efforts in improving the performance of Kuwaiti athletes.
Meanwhile, Algeria's national team won the first place in the overall high jump competitions, earning nine medals; four gold, three silver, and two bronze.
Tunisia's national team placed second by earning nine medals as well, including two gold, three silver, and four bronze.
The four-day event is currently held at Rades Stadium in the city of Rades, southeastern Tunis, with participation of over 400 athletes representing 14 countries, including Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Kuwait, Egypt, Qatar, Iraq, Algeria, Oman, Yemen, Morocco, Somalia, Djibouti, and Libya. (end)
