(MENAFN - Arab Times) 'Based on second contract and expertise' Saad Al-Kharraz
KUWAIT CITY, July 2: Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Sa'ad Al-Kharraz announced that 19 expatriates were appointed in the ministry based on second contract and expertise.
He also said additional 30 expatriates were appointed in the Public Authority for Disability, among them 7 full-time appointees and 23 engaged for services, making a total of 49 expatriates employed from January 1, 2017 to May 14 this year, reports Al-Rai daily.
Al-Kharraz sent this information to MP Safaa Al-Hashim in response to a parliamentary question and explained that the ministry's appointees within the period in question were from different nationalities and included; 4 Egyptians, 4 Indians, 3 Syrians, 3 Bangladeshis, two Jordanians and one employee each from Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Pakistan.
The statistics included the jobs of concerned persons as 'legal specialist and researcher, automated systems specialist, documentation analyst, reporter, cleaner, software maker, computer engineer, typist, senior technical assistant, senior translation specialist, and teacher in that order.
According to statistics, the financial reward received by the ministry appointees ranges from 1,400 dinars in the upper limit down to the minimum of 190 dinars, while the remuneration for the appointees or those whose services were engaged in the system stood between 1,883 dinars at the highest down to 190 dinars.
He explained 'the reason for appointing non- Kuwaitis is to benefit from their expertise in light of the need for work. In the same context, measures have since been taken to reduce the number of non- Kuwaiti employees according to the groups listed in the table in line with Civil Service Commission resolution 11/2017, he stated, noting the decision affects employees with low qualifications whereby the services of 14 employees in the ministry and 9 in the Public Authority for Disability were terminated for the financial year 2017-2018.
He also said the services of 4 employees in the Ministry and 8 in the Public Authority for Disability were terminated for the financial year 2018-2019 according to the determined rates and upon the request of Civil Service Commission.
