Oman- Madayn announces tender for sixth building in Knowledge Oasis Muscat

Shumookh Investment and Services Company, the investment arm of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates – Madayn, has announced a tender for construction of the sixth building (KOM 6) in the Knowledge Oasis Muscat.

Eng Musallam al Hudaifi, chief executive officer of Shumookh Investment and Services, said local factories and companies, entrepreneurs and SMEs can come forward to take part in the construction process and offer their services in the fields of supply and implementation.

Eng Hudaifi added that the Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM) is getting set for the construction of KOM 6 building, which will offer distinctive spaces and new services to complement the current services offered by the other buildings.

The building will have a unique exterior design with a modernist touch and contemporary architectural styles that takes into account the architectural culture connecting the interior with the exterior spaces.

The design of KOM 6 courtyard will be derived from the traditional Omani architecture. The building has been designed in such a way that it reduces the affect of direct sunlight and uses modern design and glass facades to keep the heat out.

KOM 6 will be built on an area of 51,000sq m to serve as a hub for local and international technology and communications companies, providing more than 460 parking spaces in the basement. To keep pace with the growing demand in the Knowledge Oasis Muscat, the new building will provide large office space, banking services, commercial stores, and other services. The food court will comprise nine restaurants with indoor, outdoor and semi-outdoor dining areas.

The KOM 6 building is expected to be completed in 2021.
