Iraq: IS attack murders 2 women in Nineveh

(MENAFN) On Thursday, as many as two women were murdered in an attack conducted by IS militants in northern Iraq's Nineveh province.

Col. Ahmad al-Jubouri of the Iraqi army informed Anadolu Agency that "elements belonging to Daesh attacked the [Nineveh's] village of al-Khazrajiya at dawn on Thursday."

The source added, "Two women were killed and several civilians were injured, including a number of children and a tribal elder".

In mid-2014, the IS terrorist organization took control over one-third of Iraq, including the northern city of Mosul.
