(MENAFN) An incident happened while the activities to celebrate the 59th independence day of Madagascar at Mahamasina stadium on Wednesday causing the death of at least 15 people and injury of 75 others, secretary of state for the Gendarmerie of Madagascar declared.
Families of Victims were comforted by President of Madagascar Andry Rajoelina and his visiting Rwandan counterpart, Paul Kagame, throughout a press conference later during the day at presidential palace of Madagascar. Rajoelina declared at the same time that the state will cover the treatment expenses of the injured in the hospital.
A few months ago, On September 9, 2018, during a football match between Madagascar and Senegal, a deadly conflict happened in the Mahamasina stadium at the entrance to the stadium, and one person killed, 47 others wounded.
