(MENAFN) The 2019 Ashden Award was presented to a couple of startup companies from both Zambia and Kenya.
Zambia's Renewable Energy Efficiency Program and Kenya's Sistema.bio were granted the award which aims to celebrate organizations that contribute to the age of clean energy.
Both startups managed to win the 2019 edition of Ashden awards thanks to their efforts to encourage uptake of green energy innovations.
Home-grown green inventions are greatly helpful in changing the livelihoods of rural communities within the African continent that suffer from climate change effects, stated CEO of Ashden Harriet Lamb.
